Anyone within 5 miles of Robert Pattinson’s Twilight fans could probably be forgiven for thinking they were in the presence of royalty.
And now RPattz has given his own explanation about why there is so much interest in his love life.
The Twilight actor has suggested that he is seen as royalty because “America really wants to have a royal family”.
Talking to David Carr at the TimesTalk event in New York, the 26-year-old actor said, “you want to have a democratic royal family. It’s a meritocratic version of it, sort of, actually, no it’s not at all”.
Rob must be getting used to dodging questions about the status of his relationship with Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart as he promotes new film Cosmopolis.
Kristen, on the other hand, is still in hiding.
She was noticeably absent from the London premiere of new film On The Road last night and it’s rumored she has pulled out of MTV’s Video Music Awards, at which she was due to appear alongside Rob.
