Fans of "Wizards of Waverly Place" will be able to find one of their own on ABC Family, as Jake T. Austin is set to star in "The Fosters".
The hour-long drama, which is currently in pre-production for a November shoot, is being produced by Jennifer Lopez and features a lesbian couple, Stef and Lena Foster (played by Teri Polo and Sherri Saum, respectively), who are a mixed race couple raising their biological son, Brandon (David Lambert).
The 17-year-old former Disney Channel star is portraying the role of Jesus Foster -- a charming, hyperkinetic kid who's on Ritalin and is more sensible and pragmatic than his fraternal twin sister.
Austin recently wrapped up a four-season stay on the the children's network playing Max Russo on "Wizards of Waverly Place", where he appeared in more than 100 episodes and starred alongside Selena Gomez.
