Bollywood actor-producer Ajay Devgn is in legal trouble as a complaint against him has been filed in a court, for allegedly defaming the Sikh community in his upcoming film Son of Sardar. Reportedly, Devgn and the director of the film Ashwini Dhir have hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikhs.
Ravinder Singh, a member of a Sikh organisation âSikhi Sidakâ, filed a complaint seeking action against the filmmaker and the actor. Reportedly, the films trailer shows Ajay Devgn as a turbaned Sikh but with Lord Shiva tattooed on his chest.
Argues his councel, âSince Sikhs are forbidden by their gurus from worshipping idols and deities, the projection of a Sikh being worshipper of Lord Shiva has deeply hurt the religious feelings of the complainant and the Sikh community.â
The complainant also said: âin the official trailer of the film, Sikhs have been maligned and defamed by the dialogues spoken by Ajay Devgan.â
âThese dialogues have lowered the image of Sikhs in the mind of general public and have made them a laughing stock for people and has presented Sikh community in bad taste and the trailers of the film have been released only to defame the community.â
Singh insisted on Ajay Devgan and Ashwini Dhir being summoned and tried for offences of âoutraging the religious sentiments of Sikh community and defaming itâ.
