Stars flocked to the New York premiere of Peter Jacksonâs newest leap into the world of Middle Earth, ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.’
The movie is the first of a new trilogy starring Martin Freeman as a younger Bilbo Baggins and covers the events that lead him to find the ring, which he passes down to Frodo in the opening of ‘Lord of The Rings’.
And speaking of Frodo, Elijah Wood was there. Heâs not in this one but heâs there with Sir Ian McKellan who is. The legendary thespian from England is back as Gandalf the Grey.
But the new characters set to steal the show are the 13 dwarves who accompany Bilbo on his journey.
Lead by Thorin, played by Richard Armitage they are band together to reclaim the Lonely Mountain, which is occupied by the deadly dragon Smaug.
He looks a little tall, so weâre guessing that Peter used his cinemagic tricks to shrink him onscreen.
The movie is out in time for Christmas so get ready to happily spend some time in Middle Earth again.
