Let’s hope she does manage to get exciting film offers, ‘coz the Barfi! babe is planning to move bag and baggage to the capital of Hindi films
B-town’s latest import from South India is Ileana D’Cruz. The beauty who starred in several Telugu films like Pokiri, Jalsa and Kick makes her first appearance in a Hindi film called Barfi!. The film also stars Bollywood’s heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and reigning diva Priyanka Chopra. In a recent interview the Goan hottie said, “I am looking for a place in Mumbai so that they (her parents) can shift here with me. I want to settle down in Mumbai. So right now I am hunting for a house in the city.â€
Remember how after Ghajini Asin shifted base to Mumbai, and slowly, steadily made inroads into the tight-knit and somewhat closed film industry that is Bollywood. Another Hyderabad-based actor who recently moved to the Bollywood capital is Shruti Hassan. However, even before Hindi film fans can give their verdict on Ileana’s acting skills in Barfi!, rumour has it that the babe is doing Rajkumar Santoshi’s Phata Poster Nikla Hero opposite Shahid Kapoor. And that should be a good start for Ileana. Don’t ya agree?
By the way the Barfi! babe received many Hindi film offers during her six-year-long career span in the regional industry, but Ileana always wanted roles that gave her scope to do more than dance and look pretty in Bollywood. In that case, we wish the Southern hottie does find her place under the B-town sun.
