Boy band McFly thrilled thousands of screaming fans as they kicked off Manchester’s Trafford Centre’s Christmas celebrations. 

Performing on stage, the boys were given the honour of flicking the switch to turn on the shopping mall’s Christmas lights. 

Wishing the audience Merry Christmas, the band sung a few of their hit songs for adoring crowds. 

The audience were also entertained by British trio Stooshe and The Voice finalist Tyler James. 

Cyclists Barney and Sarah Storey and Olympic Taekwondo star Jade Jones also received a special tribute at the event.
